“Our residents at Yorktown Manor always enjoy their opportunities for excursions and recreation trips provided by the facility. Some of our excursions involve the peace and serenity of the great outdoors such as our recent trip to the Prairie Creek Reservoir. Prairie Creek Reservoir Superintendent Ivan Gregory recently provided an opportunity for our active residents to fish from the handicapped accessible fishing dock at Prairie Creek Reservoir. Our residents (almost all of whom caught big fish) had a wonderful time connecting with nature and experiencing a pastime that means so much to them all. The chance to fish in a safe and beautiful environment had our residents reminiscing about fishing trips from their childhood and youth. Prairie Creek’s dedicated park staff gave our residents two great gifts: an opportunity to make fond, new memories, and the opportunity to relive some of their fondest memories from their pasts.Yorktown Manor is incredibly grateful for Superintendent Gregory and for all of the Prairie Creek staff who helped make our fishing trip a fun-filled, memorable experience for our residents and staff. Support for our parks department and its leadership is so important for creating opportunities for people of all ages in our community to reconnect with nature, create fond new memories, and relive great memories. Again, we are forever grateful for this opportunity. We are sure to hear about this trip for months to come, and we look forward for the chance to revisit Prairie Creek with our residents and staff in the future.”

“I was so out of balance when I first came and I didn’t have any strength,” said Marjorie. “They worked with me to help me improve so much and they made it fun instead of making it feel like work.” Marjorie enjoyed her stay so much, she recommends Yorktown Manor to anyone needing therapy. “Everyone seemed to do the right thing at the right time. This was so new to me and everyone helped guide me through it.”
Marjorie 'Rehabbed to Home' the beginning of January, 2015 and is enjoying getting back into her regular routine.
“I had a very good experience here (at Yorktown Manor). The doctor said he could tell I received wonderful care while healing. I would highly recommend it here, I believe it is the best facility around. It is clean and the residents and staff all seem like family.”
